Cobus To Join Busted On Their Pigs Can Fly Tour

Busted today announce that YouTube sensation Cobus will be joining them as the drummer on their upcoming 'Pigs Can Fly' Arena Tour.

Pieter Jacobus 'Cobus' Potgieter is one of the world's best drummers. South African born, but currently living in LA, Cobus is famous for his drum covers and for starting the YouTube Band Project. He is the 2nd most subscribed drummer on YouTube with over 650,000 subscribers. In the YouTube community, he is considered to be the first YouTube cover drummer.

Charlie Simpson says: "I first came across Cobus in 2008 when someone tweeted me a link of him doing a cover on YouTube and it blew me away. I've followed his career ever since looking for an opportunity for us to work together and the Busted tour seemed like the perfect fit. We can't wait to get out on the road and show people how good he is!"

Cobus says: "I've been listening to Busted since I started drumming as a 16-year old back in 2002, so to be able to join them on this monumental tour is nothing short of a dream come true. We're having such a blast playing along to the old tracks, as well as working on a few new songs. I've had a few "is this really happening?" moments so far while we're jamming through some of my favourite tracks, and I'm just trying not to fanboy too hard. I'm so proud to be a part of this tour.

Busted announced their surprise return to the music scene late last year to a phenomenal response from fans and media alike. It’s the reunion they said could never happen - even the members themselves have admitted it - by Matt, James and Charlie are returning to the road with a full UK arena tour, their first in 12 years. Wednesday 11th May 2016 will be their first show together in 12 years – and the first time in 12 years anyone will be able to see the three members play all their greatest hits together live – among them the simply huge, unforgettable smashes “What I Go To School For”, “Crashed The Wedding”, “You Said No”, “Air Hostess” and “Year 3000.”

For the gig Busted will return to the home of their biggest triumph, the venue where anybody last saw them – Wembley Arena. It was here that they broke a record in 2004 by selling out an incredible 12 shows. And it’s here that they will make their long overdue comeback.

With an incredible five million record sales, two 4 x platinum albums and four number one singles to their name, a staggering 700,000 concert tickets sold in one year, two BRIT Awards and a Record of the Year Award, Busted are one of the biggest home-grown pop acts of the 21st century.
