Louise Signs WorldWide Record Deal With Warner Music UK
Louise Redknapp has signed a record deal with ADA Records/Warner Music UK, the music company owned by Len Blavatnik and home to Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Clean Bandit, Jess Glynne and Stormzy. The singer-songwriter first shot to fame with R&B band Eternal in the 1990s and has subsequently enjoyed a successful solo career.
Louise says: “25 years ago I signed my first solo deal with Parlophone, and I am so excited to be continuing my journey with the Warner Music family. I can’t wait for everyone to hear this new album”
Louise found fame in the girl group Eternal, whose 1993 debut album Always and Forever was the first album by an all-girl group to achieve more than one million sales in the UK. She also enjoyed four top 10 UK singles with the band: ‘Stay’, ‘Save Our Love’, ‘Just A Step From Heaven’ and ‘Oh Baby I….’
In 1995, she left the band to pursue a solo career. Her debut single, ‘Light of my Life’ charted at Number Eight in the UK, and she went on to have a further seven UK top 10 hits with ‘Naked’, ‘Undivided Love’, ‘One Kiss From Heaven’, ‘Arms Around The World’, ‘Let’s Go Round Again’, ‘2 Faced’, ‘Stuck In the Middle With You’ and ‘Pandora’s Kiss/Don’t Give Up’.
She also released five solo albums – Naked, Woman In Me, Elbow Beach, Changing Faces – The Best of Louise and Finest Moments – two of which were certified Platinum in the UK.
In total, Louise has sold more than five million records in the UK and some 15 million records worldwide.
Louise stepped back from music ahead of the birth of her first son Charley in 2004. She continued to pursue a career in television presenting and modelling. She has acted as the host of TV shows including CD:UK, Soccer Aid: Extra Time, Something For The Weekend, The Clothes Show and This Morning. She has been the face of advertising campaigns for brands including Avon, Boots, BT, Nintendo, Thomas Cook and Triumph.
She has also appeared as a judge on the BBC series So You Think You Can Dance and was a finalist in the 2016 season of Strictly Come Dancing.
In 2017, she returned to the music industry, playing her first live show in 15 years at Under the Bridge in London. She is currently working on new material, set to be released later this year.
